There was a time when your neighborhood service station was a trusted place, where everyone knew you and knew all about your car. They took good care of everything, and they were all about taking good care of their customers.
Byron Rusk opened RMS Auto Care in 1980 with the on-going goal of providing world class service, technology and talent, and making sure that we always take very good care of our customers and their cars and trucks.
We are still located at 1759 Westheimer (at Woodhead) and trusted neighborhood service is still alive and well at RMS Auto Care.
We believe in the tradition of taking good care of our customers, with advice you can trust, providing excellent neighborhood services and working with the best technicians who use the latest technology.

At RMS, we specialize in repair and maintenance services on American, European and foreign vehicles, including (but not limited to) Acura, Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Corvette, Ford, GMC, Infiniti, Jaguar, Jeep, Land Rover, Lexus, Mercedes, Mini Cooper, Porsche, Saab, Subaru, Toyota and Volkswagen and offer a 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty on most repairs.
Our state of the art auto body collision repair and paint facility allows us to complete car and truck collision and body repairs quickly to help get you back on the road.
Convenient Location – we are near downtown, the Medical Center, River Oaks, The Heights and Montrose.
Free Customer Shuttle – we will drop you off and pick you up, within a 5 mile radius of our shop.
Same Day Service on Most Repairs
No Surprises – All prices are approved by you, in writing, before any work is done.
About Us
RMS Auto Care was founded by Byron Rusk, who grew up in Houston and studied business administration at the University of Houston. As a student, he founded a moving and storage company, Rusk Moving, which he operated until 1984. Rusk Moving specialized in office moving and storage for businesses. Byron has been in the car care business since 1980, when he started RMS Auto Care at Westheimer and Woodhead.
In 2018, Byron’s sons, Harrison and Ford Rusk, took over the business. Harrison is a 10-year veteran of the Marine Corps and a University of Houston graduate, while Ford is a Texas State graduate. Together, they bring a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to RMS Auto Care, continuing the tradition of excellence in automotive repair and customer service.

Byron Rusk, Owner
Byron Rusk, Owner of RMS Auto Care
Byron was born in San Antonio and grew up in Houston. He studied business administration at the University of Houston. As a student, he founded a moving and storage company, Rusk Moving, which he operated until 1984. Rusk Moving specialized in office moving and storage for businesses. Byron has been in the car care business since 1980, when he started RMS Auto Care at Westheimer and Woodhead. He is an Accredited Automotive Manager from the Automotive Management Institute and continues to take advantage of all learning opportunities for himself and his staff to improve his business.
Byron and his fiancée Ginger have two dogs, a Beagle and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Byron enjoys reading, cooking and golf. Both he and Ginger are avid opera fans and support Opera in the Heights.
Some favorite Heights area haunts for the Byron and Ginger include Opera in the Heights, Shade, Penzey’s, Carter & Cooley, BB’s Cajun, and Heights Presbyterian Church on Sunday, where Byron serves as an ordained Elder.
